Hi great website !!!!

I'm a fan of the iPad, but also a realistic computer user. Many of us are still waiting for a light weight tablet, that is usable in the great outdoors where there is real sunlight, and can run heavy duty applications in the field.

In our case, we need to run engineering programs at field sites with our customers, with heavy use of calculations based on geospatial data layers. Since we can't count on being in areas where there is wi-fi or broadband connectivity, web-based applications are out.

If it's a Windows machine, it has the ability to run every pc program available, it should be able to run web-based apps, and if the OS is suitable, program developers will quickly write or adapt their apps for it.

So this type of set up - Windows 8 on a real computer in tablet form, is very appealing to me. Now if they can just make a screen we can read outdoors without bringing the battery life to its knees...

My daughter and I played with it until 11:30pm last night as my husband (an antendee of Build) brought it to the hotel. We loved the PaintPlay app! The application allows all five fingers to paint away using an array of colors, shapes, and sizes.

I concur that the device heats up and the battery life isn't superior. Another con is the lack of availability of apps that are out there at this moment. I'm also nervous about the possibility of early failure of the adapter plugin into the side of the tablet.

Overall, it's a sleek looking tablet and we are thankful that Build and Samsung has released this pre-market version. :) I'm hoping to steal it away and use it at the Univeristy of Nevada Reno for courses and work.
